    In August 1st, the BASF coatings business department announced the construction of an advanced surface treatment production base in the Dushan Port Economic Development Zone, Pinghu, Zhejiang Province, and was planned to be put into production in 2021. After the completion of the base, it will include production, warehousing, advanced laboratories and administrative office areas. This investment will strengthen Kay Meteer's market position in China, better meet customers' expectations, and provide them with high level of service and quality solutions. The new production base is located in the Pinghu Dushan Port Economic Development Zone, which is very suitable for the development of manufacturing industry. It will provide excellent infrastructure for the project.

    The Asia Pacific region is the largest surface treatment market in the world and has important strategic value. "For Kay Meteer, the overall layout of China is very critical, and it will ensure that we serve our customers and realize the brand commitment to provide the best customized solutions in the surface treatment industry," said Mr. yongwan, BASF's global senior vice president and the surface handling business.

   Mike Watson, BASF's global vice president and the Asia Pacific surface processing business, added: "the new investment project will be the broadest production base in the world. Strengthening our customer support and supply chain in China will help to expand global product portfolios in multiple segments for automobiles and steam. To provide high quality and environmentally friendly products and systems solutions for automotive parts, rolls, general industry, cold forming, aerospace, aluminum and glass industries.

    In the past few years, the BASF coating business department has continued to invest in China, especially in Shanghai, in order to be closer to China's customers in the fast growing area of automotive coatings. For example, the first Asia Pacific automotive application R & D center in BASF Shanghai Innovation Park, and a world-class automotive paint production facility for the development of China's automotive industry. By acquiring the surface treatment business operated under the Kemitel brand, the new investment will make BASF a more complete supplier of paint solutions.
